This post comes from Energy Corps member King Adjei-Frimpong, who is serving with The Commission on Economic Opportunity in Pennsylvania.
King writes;
This week the Energy Corps team at the Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO), King Adjei-Frimpong and Shailean Hardy, worked at the Wilkes-Barre community garden. They were joined by Pennsylvania State Coordinator Jordan Goldsmith, Energy Corps Members Kayleigh Cornell and Michael Maholtz, as well as volunteers from CEO.
The team donned their best gardening clothes as they turned over the eight garden beds, pulled weeds, and picked up garbage in the area. Fortunately, much of the garbage was recyclable. The whole process took about four hours, but it was well worth it.
They are excited to usher in the spring by growing fruits and vegetables in the garden!
