This next post comes from Energy Corps Member Kayleigh Cornell, who is serving at SEEDS in Pennsylvania.
Kayleigh writes;
This year, I have held forums on weatherization and energy efficiency, with an average attendance of 25 people at each forum. I have designed a program called Wayne Conserves which aims to decrease the energy and material use of residents and organizations in Wayne County and recognize them for their efforts. So far I have reached out to 40 participants, and we have a media day coming up on Tuesday, March 20th where we will be interviewing participants that have already seen savings and also talk to those who are just beginning the program. The interviews will be shown on the local TV stations as well. We look forward to seeing the energy saving results in August, and will report back with our progress!
Kayleigh Cornell is a native of northeastern Pennsylvania where she is glad to be serving in the quaint, progressive town of Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Always fostering an interest in activism and the environment, she attended the University of Pittsburgh to pursue a degree in Environmental Studies. “I was so blessed to have such amazing mentors, teachers, and fellow activists guide me to work towards a more sustainable planet,” she said.
